One was racing in London, Ontario this weekend. It proved to be fast, stable, and durable. Definitely a nice boat.

how thick is the sheeting? i'm sure you will be putting fiberglass matte over it right? looking good though. not much longer till the hull is fully built. your a inspiration to me

ok... i take it your using epoxy to assemble it, but wouldn't ca be better then epoxying everything together before putting on the deck? that's how i built my 1/10 cracker box.

The frame was built using CA and then epoxyed but side sheets and bottom were just epoxyed on only. This is a kit so all wood came with it I will check the thickness.Lots of these have been built on here if you use the search you can pull them up.

Thanks Jake

i know it's a kit, but was just curious how thick the sheeting is. waiting for the epoxy to set would kill me. i'd just ca it then epoxy everything ounce the hull was done, but before the deck went on. just my 2 cents worth is all. i mite get one for a winter build.

CA is used to tack the sheets in place, epoxy adds the strength as it has some flex in it which CA does not. No glass sheet is needed on these boats if they are built properly. The epoxy in the wood has enough strength to hold it together. Some glass tape along the seems is all that is needed. All you'll do by glassing the whole hull is add unnecessary weight. The wood sheeting is usually 2.5 - 3mm 3 ply or 1/8th 3 ply.

Here's a thread of a boat I built from full scale plans that I scaled down to a 1/4 scale boat.

He lives in China, what we pay 200 for he gets for next to nothing. No import tax, no shipping etc.

does the kit say where to mount the engine, or at least the balance point? do you remove the last former? i do think i'll be getting one of these for winter. i want a zen for my rio, and it's fuji will go in this.

great build so far. i take it the deck is flat?

If you look at the right side stringer(motor mount) it has a cut out for the carb Joe has said to mount the motor with in that cut out.The deck is flat with a slight downward curve to the nose. The only part removed is the middle of the first former it is only held in a a few points. It is a really easy build .

Don't know if im posting this in the right place, and i don't want to highjack the thread, but does anyone know how much i should sell me easy vee for? It is fully complete, painted, engine(enforcer/zenoah 23cc) is installed, so is the prop(prather 275) and hardware(xp-2 inline), basic radio system connected... the motor has two runs on it, and its pretty fast(~35-40). I took my time on the build, and its pretty nice, the deck is filled with noodles. it would be a RTR sale. about how much could my easy vee sell for???
Thanks,
Corey

What do you think of this ATR fleabay 51" mono, homelite weedeader engine with a clutch, I'm interested in it since I'm planning to go back to a small pond which is closer to my home, it is the best slow boat for that pond. you might PM me if you still want to sell yours.
