The aeromarine sprint cat's that I have found on Google all run Nitro instead of Gas. You think this is still a aeromarine sprint cat

Yes Aeromarine makes gas powered Sprint Cats. Go to: [link=http://www.aeromarinerc.com/]Aeromarine RC[/link]

It sounds like you found a great deal. I'd be all over it !

Nice deal? You're robbing the guy! Toss the hull away and you're still bucks ahead.
Do yourself a favor and get rid of that velocity stack as it will rob horsepower.

Just remove it all together or replace it with something else?

Just remove the velocity stack. Nothing is needed on the end of the carb.

Judging by the color of the head it looks like the same motor I am running.
Zenoah 23
If there us a gold label on the front then it is a BH hanson Mod
They are ok lacks a bit of torque compared to the new 26cc one but they run well.
I have the same velocity stack on mine.

Its hard to see what motor it is from that pic but its def a zen ,whichever one it is if it runs it will be a good start in the hobby for sure, the hull just needs tidying up by the looks, bit of bondo and some sanding and a new paint job will do wonders for it .

Yea, that's what I was thinking. I've tried to get the guy to send more pics but he has been working 18 hour days,so I figured I will just go see it in person. Hopefully it will be nice enough to repair and make nice. I'm pretty good with body work so it shouldn't be too hard.

That's a super good deal if the engine would start and run, the cat is between Stryker or AM cat but need a picture without the cowl for sure.

It is an Aeromarine Sprint cat with a "Twin Turbine" cowl. I'm 100% sure of it. The motor is an old 2 port 23cc Zenoah with BH Hanson mounts. I think Marine specialties may have sold those mounts too.
Should be a good runner, as is 50-55mph would be great, don't expect much more.
To race it these days you would need to convert the motor to a 260, easy to do, you can purchase everything from American RC and do it yourself. Second thing you should change the header to a 100* one for more power.
Post a pic of the transom when you get it!
Great deal, you really scored there!

Fine project for little money. Can't beat it for the fun you're going to have. A little elbow grease & some time you'll have a nice finished project..... did I say for little money? .

Well I got it and the boat is a little rough, but mainly cosmetic. Needs a couple spots touched up and definately some new piant and it will be nice. The motor is freshly rebuilt from some compnay he said. It is a 23cc 3.5hp Zenoah. Said it cost him over $350 originally or something. He's never started the engine since he got it back from rebuild. It came with the throttle servo but that's all.
Don't have pics yet becuase it was a VERY busy weekend. Saturday was my wifes 30th and we had over 65 of our closests friends.
I will get pics soon. My question is, how do you start the motor with no pull start?

Set it in the water then push start it! [sm=lol.gif]
No, really, buy a pull-starter for it. They can be had for $20-40.00. eBay has them on there a lot.
Just to show you what you're looking for:
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Recoil-Pull-...d=p3286.c0.m14
You can also get one from most gas boat dealer sites. The one above is expensive on shipping though.

I have a starter for my Nitro Swamp boat. Is that similar?
Sorry, can't look at Ebay here at work. It's the one and only site blocked that I want to access.[>:]

OK, try this link then: http://www.americanrcboats.com/produ...ngzenparts.htm . Yes, it's kind of like the nitro pull-starters, just bigger.

I think he means he has a hand held starter motor (belt start) setup for his nitro.
