Default cracker box hardware???

hey dudes, i would like to build a wood cracker box from zippkits.com (n-box). i dont plan on racing this thing, i just want to gain experience and learn how to build wood boats. my question is, does a cracker box have to be sub surface drive? i have a warehouse hobbies xp-2 drive set up collecting dust and i would like to use it for the build. like i said, i dont plan on racing, i just want it to move along at a good rate when im done. thanks guys

you do realize that a cracker box is a squirrelly boat with a sub surface prop? give it more power mite not be the best thing.

Zippkits still has all the kits.Joe posted this on Oxford County Crackerboxes. Just a note to tell everyone that we still produce all of our kits!
There was a sentence on our site about our VBox, the "deep vee" crackerbox type hull. That was dropped from our site, as the Easy Vee kit was much more popular.
The wording may have been a little ambiguous, so we removed the notice alltogether.
We still manufacture each and every kit, from the $59.00 Easy Vee, the two crackerbox kits, the VBox, both Thunderboat hydros, and soon, the gas tunnel hull.

We are sorry for the confusion on the web site, and hope we can be of service.
