Default proper way to install o rings in the water flane at the motor

When I was running my mono this week end I noticed not much water coming out of the pipe water dump I did not melt the rings but took off the line and blew through it and it was all most imposable to get the water blown out.

I put both rings on the header then put it through the alum out side flane. Then tighten it all down is this the proper way to do this?

Thanks Jake

one O ring goes over the header, than slip on the flange, the other O ring goes on the outside between the header and ....meaning

look at pic, that is if this is the type you have or similar.

I've never seen instructions come with any of the headers I have bought and had I not had help with the first one probably would have had the same problem

no water leak flange is the way to go jake, save orings, more cooling water comes out and makes the engine cooler, if you want to see your boat run faster, don't skip this part.

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I would add on to this.
My 'No Leak Flanges' arrived (thanks Eric) I can't seem to get the flange off my header without seriously scratching it around the first bend and the new one does not want to go around either. Am I missing something on the way that this is supposed to be done? i.e.

- Should I un-bend and re-bend
- force it on with lots of grease around it
- Unbend the lip and re-bend

or is my header distorted and the flanges should just slip on and off?

Thanks in advance

Sandy

sandy, your flange will fit a 7/8" alum or steel header pipe.

Eric, I think the bends on the header are distorted. No problems fitting in on the Avenger Pro with a 90 bend. I am going to take the hammer to it (gently...of course).
