my sprint cat weights about 4.5 pounds without the cowl and radio box, the beam is 15", if you facon(17" beam) is lighter then the sprint one, wow, it's the lightest cat. I can't tell when they made it.

the brass tube installation looks good jake, make sure you push the shaft all the way into the collet and lock it up real tight, you will not lose it and no shaft saver needed.

the skeg is a drag, if your cat runs straight, you might cut it off to make more speed. did you install the fuel bag secure enough?

I am going ot make a mount that runs stringer to stringer to mount the bag its just sitting there in the pic.Skeged strut is staying on this one,I have a short stand off rudder and non skeged strut for the sprint cat comming from TSB.

before when I installed the radio gear to the radio box, I first glued a 1/4" plywood(hobbypeople has it) on it then mount everything on this solid plywood.

I am either going to through bolt everything or find a pice of delrin or that alike to glue to the bottom and attach every thing the bucks box is flat on the bottom so just need to silicone the the button heads on the bottom.

this piece of plywood helped me a lot, before I did it, I noticed the radio box would leak from its bottom, it has only 1/8" thick of fiberglass and isn't strong enough to hold the rudder servo. the weather is so nice here today, 2-4 mph of wind, I'm going to take a vid of my cat and post it here.

any update of your falcon? can't wait to see you get her running jake, I might get another sprintcat in another color than yellow, it's a real fast cat and I bet you once you drive it, you won't go back to others exept for the rigger.

Jake, on my cat the radio box i bolted the servos threw the bottom of the fiber glass box, I glued all bolts before i put things together but the fiber glass box flexes alot when things are moving. It is water tight but i wouldnt do it again, Putting wood in the bottom or something to stiffen up sounds good. I recieved my hot up kit for the sikk i think i need to do a little bit of work to it before i put it on. Keep the posts going on your build Jake, it looks really good.

Yea I under stand the flexy glass boxes but I am using a Dr Bucks box it is thick plastic that along with the alum TSB servo mount and button head screws with washers it will be fine with out wood . Thanks for the nice comments on the build I hope it runs as good as it looks ha ha ha .These Falcons are really nice boats it is too bad he does not put a front bulk head in them that is something they might need i might put one in my self.

Eric I do not think it gets any cooler than a Stryker F41 drag cowl thinking of getting one and moding it to fit the Sprint Cat.[img][/img]

I agree jake, the stryker cowl looks very cool, cut it off to that size and glue them back, your current sprint cowl looks nice too.

the radio box looks good jake, how thick of the box? if the rudder horn and the servo horn isn't on the same level, Z bending the push rod a bit to level those two things is fine.

The box is about 1/8 If need be I will add alum to the bottom for strength that way you wont see it.I went out of my way to not put a bend in it it has heim joints at both ends so the movement is free as can be it does not bind up trust me its perfect and the boots will fit on like I said I went out of my way to do it this way.
