Default servos jr 590

I need to get 2 servos dont want to use 1/4 servos so i was wondering if 2 Jr 590 metal gear servos would do or would a 650 be better?

Thanks Jake

Without looking it up, what kind of torque do they put out? I've been using Hi-tec 645-MG's in everything from my .21 mono on up to my gassers and they are a standard size.
You're going to want something with a minimum of 94 oz. in. of torque.
If you're using a dual rudder setup then you'll want a lot more.

The 590 is 95 I think and 650 is 142 I think.

ron is right, for the rudder servo, you will need at least an 94oz/in at 6v of the torque or greater, you might check this one out, a fish price.

the JR 590 has 85 oz/in at 6Volts.

Maybe using two of them might work but if you are gonna use the space for 2 standard size servos why not use a 1/4 scale.

The gears a bigger and stronger than a standard size even if its a high torque especially on a large Gas boat.

One for rudder and one for throttle no need for that huge of a servo on a 41 in cat.

For throttle duties you can use just about any standard servo as they don't require a lot to move the butterfly. It sure doesn't hurt to keep a spare around though as you never now when you might need one. I keep spares for those just in case times.

I miss understood your original question, i tought you wanted to use 2 standard size servo for the rudder thats why I said to use a 1/4 scale....my bad.

I do prefer to use a 1/4 scale servo on the rudder, that's my preference.

Dan.
