Try Zac [link=http://www.americanrcboats.com/products/hardware/cables.htm]American RC[/link], he has these.....left photo.

I dont use my TSB saver for the same reason as you, plus I dont like the grub screws that can damage the flexi. Right photo.

Small zip tie is what i use and i mean small,or you can use a pice of silicone tubing over the shaft. That said the best way to stop losing your shaft and prop etc is to tighten your collet properly before you run and check it every time you bring the boat in to refuel .

You Can always cut the TSB saver in half and then you will have Two and as far as the set screws damaging the flex shaft
the set screw is softer than the flex shaft and we (TSB) have never had a problem using the kind with set screws. We have used
this style for years and have not had any complaints. The other kind that is used is bought from McMaster and the aren't balanced as well as the kind with set screws.

Hi jake, This might be a dumb question, but why have you got so little room???. If you have only got just over 1/4in between the collet and flex tube the vibration of the engine will be putting a big stress point on your cable just where it meets the tube. Is there any chance on moving the T-bar back 15mm and cutting the flex tube shorter to get more room.

Steve its a cat, motor is as low as posable most say to leave stuffing tube close to the motor I had to round the t bar at the bottom to get it this far away and it doe s have more that qurter of an inch just not enough for the TBS spacer it could rub if any flexing. [img][/img]

Allso rember when looking at the pic the collet is not screwed tight and the t bar makes it look like it has less space then it does should have 1/2 inch when it is tightened. If it was a mono you could put it anywhere but the cat instal makes it a bit more challenging.

MMMMMMM ok the pic explanes it more. Butttttt (I am no expert, just thinking out loud) The motor will move 3-4mm at idle and under torque so the flex tube is the softest metal to ware first. The distance between the flex tube and the collet dosent seem to be enough for the flex to realign its self and run without putting stress on other parts, i am probably wrong about all this but it doesn't seem quite rite.(sorry)

Steve I guess I could remove the Tbrace all togeather and just glass it in cut the tube back but I wanted the tbarce in to stiffin up the rails and hold the shaft in case something did break if the 5 dollar tube wares that is fine with me I did not want to use the butch block as it is not a monolithic style brace.i all so have the TSb rubber mount alum stiffners to keep the motor from moving as much.i guess we will see. This Cat will have a fare bit of power behind it .

I'll be going there to watch the last day's cat and rigger racing, that would be a fun event to me and can't wait to it. sunset park is a good place for racing but isn't for who wants test their boats to run in 70's or 80's, I might join the racing next year.

Well, if you have boats running 70 and 80 you would wipe the floor at the races. That is FAST!!! Where do you go in the Vegas area to run??

the pond is located at overton, take N15 and heading salt lake city, is about 50 miles away from LV, the pond is about 10 times bigger then sunset park one.
