i just glassed the stringers in, all went well. Just curious, is 1 layer of fiberglass sufficient?

That header is too long for a band pipe, you might want to see if you can trade it before using it.

You wont be able to tune the pipe to its peak ,you either need a cone to cone pipe or as said change the header , as Wayne said maybe a 105% that should bring it out dead centre at the transom. As regards your stringers what cloth or mat did you use? 1 layer should be enough just depends what you used i supose, but looking at your stringer setup id say it will be fine as theyre locked into the transom support and you have a brace forward too so you allready have a pretty strong framework .

I'll just stick with this pipe for the time being i think. I used 50mm fiberglass tape, the woven type.

I bought the cheapest radio box i could find the other day, its an Arrowshark model, its not all that bad, i held it 3ft underwater for a few mins in the pool and its was still bone dry inside but i suppose it doesnt have any linkages coming out of it at the moment.

I use tape on my rails you should be fine, did you do both sides ,as regards ther radio box they can flex a bit so a good idea is to use some plywood in the base to fix your servos to so the box doesnt flex etc.Not familiar with that box it might allready have plywood insert?.Personally i make my own wooden radio boxes as i find them stronger, but lots use your type so you should be fine. With that pipe on that header you wont get the motor to rev out as it will be too long and you wont be happy with the performance,i think as said you should either send it back and ask to swap for a 105% header or sell it and buy one just my opinion.1" or more too long and you will notice a massive difference than having the pipe set at the correct length,on my hydro i had the pipe set too long by 1 1/2" due to a mixup and speed was way down maybe 40 mph but once i put it right it was like night and day and i picked up like 15-20 mph so it does make a big differnece.

Once your pipe and header are used they are worth less money than when new, a lot easier to trade a new one. That combo will only be as good as a muffler, but louder!

Why cant you just get the right header from the start? there must be somewhere in NZ to get one ,you could have it in a cpl of days .

There's a lot of shops in Australia that can ship one to you if you have trouble finding one locally too.
