If its stock from propshop it will need to be balanced and sharpened,if it were me id buy one from dasboata allready done, not familiar with the 6717/2 but i like the propshop 6717/3 from dasboata i ran it on my mono with stock zen with good results, its now on my hydro with full mod best all round prop i own.Why not give Chris a shout and ask him which prop he advises ?,you say you tried the x472 was that a two blader? if so why not try a 3 blade version its a great prop for a mono.

The 6717/3 is a great prop. Not all 3 bladers are good 2 bladers and vice versa. The 7015/2 is a great prop. 7015/3 is a bear. Mart Octura doesn't make a X472/3, closest would be the X470/3, which is a good cheap prop but no speedster!

Funny you say that Mike, on my Panther, which is the next boat in the progression line from the Lynx, the 7015/3 prop is the prop of choice, the most stable I have with the best acceleration, it does need the strut to be set high to work, but once done I find it great. Dave recommended it to me and I have had good luck with it.

Ask Dave about his AL01. I still try the 7015/3 out once in a while, when I get it turning it is fast but nothing at all like the 7015/2.

RE: 6717/2 top speed
Funny thing with props how good they are on some things and poor on others. The 7015/3 is the only prop worth running on my big 74" cat with a QD35 - I really thought it would be slow too but it moves.
I have a few 6717/2's but have never needed to run them - I have always found a great prop before going there (and often the 6717/3 is the great one). Might have to pull the 6717/2 out of the prop box more often though.

Hope you have good luck with it - I always like to try a few props when I can - see if there any other boaters at your lake who will lend you some props to try, I never mind lending mine to people to have a go.
A few guys at our lake have found new props this way, and saves the costs.

Good idea Mart
I'd like to try your 6717/3[sm=teeth_smile.gif]. Shame the shipping would be more than the prop costs[>:]

With my mono (45" Sidewinder), I've tried
Stainless P275 from Dasboata B/S
Retallick 7040/3 B/S
Prop shop 6717/3 B/S B/C from Ozspec Hobbies
Prop shop 7016/2 B/S B/C from Ozspec Hobbies
For my hull the 7040/3 was the best performer.
