Default Quad catamaran on board video 121 k's

[link=http://sonicracingaustralia.com/v/OB121kph.wmv]On board, rear view. 121 kph. 20 MB 2 min 40 sec.[/link] Lots of water to see but still worth the download. Camera needs to be mounted higher.

[link=http://sonicracingaustralia.com/v/qc124kph.wmv]Quad cat 124 k run. 27 MB 3 min 45 sec.[/link] Fastest run ever for this boat, I don't know of any faster big cats except for the electrics and the jet turbines.

[link=http://sonicracingaustralia.com/v/qc121kph.wmv]Quad cat 121 k run. 21 MB 2 min 50 sec. [/link] This video was shot at the same time as the on board footage.

Cheers, Danny.

Thanks Tony for your camera work and to all others that have also spent time behind the camera, it's much appreciated. It's a lot more effort than is realized by many to be able to post videos, the boats themselves have a substantial investment in time and money for there design, build and development. Then there's the support of other boaters to get them on the water, video footage, post editing and hosting for download.

There is 4000 MB + of content with over 4 hours of video freely available from my website. By volume (4GB), my website is downloaded every 36 hours from all over the world.

Cheers, Danny.

I was just having a dig Danny.
The rear facing angle is impressive. Not an often seen view. I see what you mean about the sound too !
I reckon you should experiment with a few more camera angles. You could race tape a piece of ply or carbon fibre across the nose and tape the camera to it looking aft, either down the length of the hull or angled underneath or down along the side. That would give a series of views that could be spliced together during post editing.

Watching this video has convinced me that twin counter rotating drives are what is really needed in a catamaran.

Mine has one in the middle and it tends to ride on one sponson at full throttle.

Watching this boat it couldn't be riding on the water better.

This winters project will be to build or buy something like this.

Nice boat, great video!

Finding places to put the camera isn't the problem, getting it to stay turned on is. Doesn't like vibration so more foam needed I think.

Counter rotating is definitely the way to go for twins or quads. It produces a much better balanced boat and cornering is the same left or right.

I have the engines out for a check over at the moment and have decided to do some small mods. Nothing flash, just lightening the pistons and taking the exhaust timing up a little. Of all the simple mods that can be done, I have seen the biggest gains from the lighter piston in other boats I have. Just a lot of nuts and bolts to undo to do 4 of them.

Cheers, Danny.
