I've got a small pile of props now to try out on mine. as soon as I can find some time to get to the pond. It's also got a new RCMK Evo under the hatch. Hopefully I can make a decent heat racer out of it.
Oh yeah, got fresh decals on it. For you in Oz, this is a Hockey team and the hull color went well with the team colors.

I will. Usually I don't hit the pond or lake without a video camera along for the ride.

Apache...I recentley ran a 2716x2..20pitch and i gained 8 mph more without adjusting any settings that i ran with a 7016x2. I was happy as a pig in s@*t...Untill i had a prop nut come off and lost the prop.
Ill definately be buying some more of these.. Iwas astounded at the speed increase and cant wait to set it up properly for that prop to see how much more i can get out of it!!!!!!
65 MPH for my precious falcon called bubbles...YIPPEEEEEEEE......

Put a slice of silicone tubing between the prop and nut. It does quite a few things, works as a lock washer or a secondary nut plus keeps the numbers on the hub from rubbing off from the nut.

Had my Falon for a while and can be seen on the Accu-Tech web site as I used there hardware for this build and was happy with the Quality and the customer service. After a lots of Testing my best run to date was a 64.9 GPS, this was running a self Modded 2716/2 20* cupped and rounded tips, and a 26zen. also modded by me. The temp was cooler and the motors like the cold weather, been working on my Hydro, set up for Saw as well. I don't roundy round I like to see how Fast I can get my stuff to run.
Faster is better;

Ron, thanx for the tip, i will try that one. For some strange reason, only mine, i had a lock nut fitted in front of the bullet nut at the time of losing the prop....
Earlier in the day I had only just finished telling, bragging, to some boaties in mildura," Nah...never lost a prop yet with this set up".....CARMA!!!!!!!!!!!
I also like the silicon idea stopping the wearing off of the prop numbers. Thanx heaps.

bummer mate loosing ya prop.
scooter , sounds like ya boats going well. yer ive got a 2716-20, will try some mods to it round the tips ,etc,, for the falcon once i get it in the water, just wating for my hot pipe to be welded up.. and finish servo box of.... i havent worked out wether to run 1/2 cowling like a see some guys do. also i see on some of the drag cat stylle hulls guys are slotting the transums , im gessing to alow air flow. more and maybe it also may reduce blow over ...
just fitting up a second hand tunnel i picked up from a mate of mine . going to runn it then pull it apart and rebuild it.... and may put in a
rcmk evo , side exaust or rear exhaust , as im also looking into getting a hydro very soon also....so i can swap and change and runn what hull i feel like running...more funn the better

ron , ive seen some pics when people run that tubing . so can you still realy lock up the nylon lock nut i would of thort the silicone woul split or balge out, but i gess i see what you mean it works like a split washer... . but im gessing if guys runn it it must work..

I picked up that little tip on my first real nitro boat that I bought a K&B outboard for as they came with the cilicone tubing on them. We tossed the included plastic prop as that was more for show than go.
The intention also was if it is long enough it could be used as a prop saver to an extent as if you hit something underwater it would have in theory pushed the prop back off the drive dog like a shock absorber. If you lose your last prop nut in the tall grass a piece of the tubing can save the day.
I know what you mean about the streamlined prop nuts also, those babies don't like to stay on but the fuel tubing trick works on those also. I just can't bring myself to use those any more even though I've still got some laying around. I've been using Bill Zuber's prop nuts or the Prathers and never has an issue with either brand. I like Zuber's nuts (yeah, lots of jokes about that) as they can be put on and taken off with a 5/16" glow plug socket and stay put. I don't know if there are any suppliers in Oz for them.

Ive just been informed, yesterday, that my boating companion has ordered ten zuber prop nuts,5 each, so from now on thats what ill be running, and yes to the silicon tubing also...
Thanx for the tips all, they mite only be little handy hints, but these things sure do save you money in the long run!!!!!!!!!
Another question........When building my boat i didnt offset the strut, I dont really want to strip and move it over the 1/4 inch, so i would like to know your thoughts on strut wedges????? Any one!!!!!!!
Ive filed down the strut/skeg (RHS) to help it track straight, which improved it some, I then placed some verythin washers in strut as wedges and improved it heaps, so im now looking at proper wedges.

I kind of worry about using washers and wedges as if not done properly it can crack the transom at the worst case or just the gel-coat. A two-piece bracket might not make a lot of difference as sometimes you're only moving one side and doing nothing to the other.
Most use motor mount shims for RC planes to angle the strut. Try the "Search Tower" at the upper left of the screen and some should come up to give you an idea of what's out there.
[Update] It looks like they call them thrust plates.

It really makes me think that moving the strut over 1/4 inch mite be the best option......
Some say 1/4, some say less,,,how much are most doing????? 1/4 seems the norm......
Any comments or suggestions............................
Thanx,
Cheers Scoot

It's worth it. I had mine offset 1/4 in and it tracked straight as an arrow no matter what prop I ran on it. Speed will be faster if you aren't having to feed rudder into it constantly.

That's a stock evo running one of Ken Retallicks pipe combos. I run his quiet pipes on all my gassers except my hydro & they don't take away any power at all. I'll give it the first run this sunday at the Adelaide race meet. I'll be swapping that engine out for one of Ken's modified Zens as soon as funds allow me to buy the Zen & send it to him for to modify. I just ordered a 29cc top end for my jet sprint boat which I'll send to Ken too.
