Default WTC Header water circulation problem...

I have a WTC pipe with the water cooled flange as in the following link

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Stainless-Stee...#ht_3856wt_939

The problem I'm having is when I tighten it onto my ZEN the water flow is restricted. I have tried blowing through the water nipples when it is off and it blows freely. When I tighten it on, it has no through blow. When I loosen it a bit, I get air blowing through. But when I start her up, the nuts vibrate loose....***???
I'm sure there is a simple solution, or am I being a bit THICK here??? I mean loads of guys use this flange and have no issues!!!

By the look it has dual o-rings... are you tightening too much squishing the rings and closing the area of flow off?
Or are the rings moving into the location of flow?

Well, that's the thing. It does feel like they are squishing together thus blocking off the flow, however, when loosened slightly, the bolts seem too loose. It's like there's no in between...

Had a similar issue quite a few years ago that was a incorrect machined manifold. What I painstakingly did was make a shim plate that went between the two half's allowing complete tightening. It was made from @ 1/16" aluminum plate.
Another time when I was using custom built headers made with a THICK flange washer it created too much o-ring compression again requiring another shim plate to be made.

The newer No Leak manifold that circulate water within manifold and NOT around the o-rings is a far superior design

You would be better with a 'no leak flange'
Sent you a PM.

Which no leak flange and pipe setup do you guys recommend? I just picked up a sprint cat hull and I am looking for an exhaust system to run. I want to run a wtc header but not sure which one to go with.

CC racing, Gizmo, Insane all sell no leaks for 7/8 head pipes that are of the same basic design and great quality. There are some others out there that are not as nice [:@]

I had one flange that I was messing around with and while apart I noticed that the water fittings screwed in so far that they were blocking off the flow of the water. Take a look inside and see if there are a lot of threads showing. They may be going in so far that they're hitting the header or close to it which could restrict the amount of water trying to go through.

Gizmomotors.com has a 2 inch band pipe with 100 deg header and water cooled flange set up that looks like jewelry for your ride.....super affordable too, considering the quality. Just wanted to throw that in there. Let me know if you want a pic and I can toss one up.
