Default flex shaft size

If I use a zenoah inline twin, do I need to upsize the flex shaft from 1/4" dia.?, Maybe 5/16"? If so where do you get these and does the prop end of the shaft reduce down to 1/4" to fit the prop bore?

Use a quality cable and you should have no problems Chris.

Some 1/4" cables will take up to 15hp though this will depend on how much you flex them too.

sorry to thread jack a bit but one other question about flex shafts that might also help the op. where can you buy sections of flex shaft?

i need a piece longer than the standard 18 or so inches most hobby shops carry. i twisted mine apart tonight, i dont think i have 15 hp lol but i do have 55 cc runnin into a 1/4" shaft. the one thats in the boat lasted from the day it was built.

Most RC boat suppliers carry cable in lengths.

Off the top of my head - http://bonzisports.com/out_drive.html or http://www.rocketcityracing.com/prod...ategory_id=111
