flexible shaft replacement.....help?
Where can I find 1/4 inch replacement flexi shafts for an old gas boat?
I am attempting to repair my nephew's boat which was built from a wood kit. The drive shaft was "rigged" and separated so I must replace it. Any help appreciated. Tony |

Tony at warehouse hobbies makes them up to order, depending on square or round drives.
Probably best to call him, he's a wealth of information. http://www.whhonline.com/Drive-Cables-s/51.htm tap |

I've got to order some myself tomorrow (probably today when you read this) as I broke one Sunday plus I like to keep a spare one around.
A lot does depend on what the setup is on the boat. A square drive has a squared end going into the collet at the motor. A round one has a collet that clamps down around the cable as a nut is tightened. I'm ordering from Joe Petro at www.zippkits.com which isn't that far from you in New York. |

You can order from Aeromarine as well, that's where I get mine from. If I order 1/4" cables, they have square drives while the 3/16" are normally round

Try to get through to Aeromarine! Joe sells Aeromarine cables and they are good. I've also used Hughey and just got one of Andy Brown's cables, a little more money but more supple and aleady have an indent for the drive dog.

I haven't had any trouble getting anything from Aeromarine, yet anyway. Actually, I do need to order more struts and cables for more projects
