Enforcer Manta Ray advice /help

1 Attachment(s)
Hello,
its been a long time since i last ran a boat or posted ,i picked up a ready to run Manta Ray yesterday and have a couple of questions .
Its fitted with what i think to be a spd drive ? but can anyone tell me what version ?? also anywhere in the Uk i can get a spare flexy ? .The engine is a Zen 23 but i was told by the vendor its a modded motor ? says ez 23 with a red spot on both the pull start and cylinder head ?
The boat is in great shape but came with an open un muffled exhaust that i have replaced with a Prestwich pipe and homemade header, lastly its got a water pump something i have not used before and was wondering can it be tested without putting it in the water <lake is frozen>,
cheers Euan.
ps i will add some more photos in a bit

You can get a flex from Dave at Prestwich, cut and make your own.

The pipe and header together look like they are going to be way too long to get best performance from the motor. You are looking for about 340mm from the flange along the centre line of the header and pipe to the widest part of the pipe.

Lots of water lines to put in place before you run it as well.

Ian,
thanks for the info on the header length, performance should be fine as this is for my kids to run whilst i play with my seaplanes,
Mart good to hear from you ,
cheers Euan.

Hi Euan if its a dbl ended square setup your only option is whobbies or a custom made one.Personally id swap out the stinger for a standard type so you can use the welded flex and stub shafts you can get those with square ends more easily ;).

Still got this lurking in my shed so maybe get it running this summer ?

After seven years in a garden shed it was a bit much to expect the Zenoah to burst into life so I replaced the carb with a new one added a fresh tank of fuel and a new plug and two hours later its running .
I now need to replace the ageing nicads ? and hopefully give it a run tomorrow .

One thing about the Manta Ray is that it has the same hull as a Viper, Warehouse Hobbies used to make. The only difference was the open hatch cover. If Enforcer Boats https://enforcerrcboats.com/index.php?route=common/home has the mold yet for that hatch you could have two boats by switching hatch covers. Here's a pic of one with the Viper hatch on.
