Miss Bud engine cooling (intake)

1 Attachment(s)
Hi friends
I was looking at the air intake on my Miss Bud and was wondering why "Proboats" put a plastic molded plug in the opening with 4 small air holes for air to pass through rather than leaving this fully open for better air cooling of the engine. I have thought about removing this myself but before I do I want to make sure its not their for a reason I do not know about.

If you open it up all the way it might balloon the fiberglass out of shape at high speed.

We had to close off the front grill in my 1969 Mustang because it would lift the fiberglass hood three to six inches off of the car.

Hope this helps[8D]

Hi Bob:

I cut off all the plastic intake, now my engine runs cooler than before and I have less drag from the hatch, there's no change on shape yet.
PS. I did cover my electronic sections (Coil, etc. with ballons to avoid damage from the water spray that's coming from the open intake.
Regards Joel
