First boat build

1 Attachment(s)
Here it is, my first attempt at building a boat.. I had it at the lake Mem.day weekend and got real frustrated cause I sucked the engine full of water twice. almost have the problems solved, I`m waiting for my tuned pipe mount from WWH. Mount that to keep the pipe from blowing off again and slip in the radio box and I`m set to go again. Hopefully no more troubles and a fun weekend of playing.[img][/img]

very nice looking boat, i see that you too are a fan of the expanding foam in a can :) i did notice that you used a block of styrofoam, how does that stuff stand up to fuel?
i was thinking that i might use some can foam and a 3 liter bottle or 2.. i know there fuel safe.. well at least the mtn dew ones are for a couple days....

so far I haven`t noticed anything. I did leak a little bit of fuel into the hull but I don`t know for sure if it got to the foam... I have anothe can, if I can remember, when I get back from Kansas City I`ll do the old experiment and see... By the way, I used the foam to basically hold the 2 big foam blocks in place and that`s working great... Gary

NICE JOB on your first boat build. Looks way better than my first. I like the green color. What engine are you running? I noticed you are from Indianapolis. I am in columbus. Where do you run your boat?

your hulls depth is so big, mines only 7 inches. The motor is half way out of the boat. I wonder what happend

Nice Job! I love the green! I would try to get some more fresh air into the engine compartment. Remeber that you have to get that air out as well. General rule is to have twice as much area for the air to get out. The engine needs fresh air and the air inside will heat up quick if it is not vented. And is that tygon water line? Tygon is not the way to go for water lines, it heats up and gets soft and can come off the fittings.

I`m running a SIKK27rc with a big bore kit from O`niell Bros Racing. I run my boat at a little camp ground in Brown County on a little 26 acer lake

The hull is 57" and it`s about 61" to the back of the rudders. The foam is so I don`t have to go scuba diving for a $700 boat. I have a couple of big blocks of styrofoam in the bow so I used the spray foam to hold it in there and to add a little more floatation. I A`M NOT GOING SCUBA DIVING IN SEAWEED!!!!!!!
