My 48in Jordo Cat

Hi All.

I had a thread going about my Jordo Cat But I stuffed up the Painting and decide to sand her back and start again, ( painting yuk :))
Anyway I repainted the Jordo again and this time it came up a bit better, :D I received my Omen mod engine today and have most of the hardware ready to start building so hopefully during the next few weeks it will keep me busy. Daniel from Omen race engines who done the mod suggested I go for a 2in belly pipe from b h hanson so I reckon I will take his advice and go for that pipe.
Have a few pics to show now but over the next few weeks will post more.;)

Looks good mate ,as for the strut its hard to tell from that pic maybe a pic of the boat from the side so we can see the height better.

Hope this one helps, I remember reading here also where the height of the strut you should begin with but cant find the post. ???? ;)
As it is now, the top of the strut shaft is in line with the bottom of the hull. Thanks for any help..

Henry.

RE: My 48in Jordo Cat

Mines is 1/2" height measured from the bottom of the stuffing tube to bottom of sponson with a 2716 prop, you will need a GPS to find out its best speed by adjusting the strut height but without blowing the cat off.

in the picture the strut is below the sponsoon level, i beleive it needs to be 1/2" up from bottom

Just noticed the jordo cat has a very shallow tunnel height would be very flighty an not like rough water

Was just on the phone to a m8 from Gatton way, He has a Jordo also and said the same thing which makes it more of a Challenge, Where I run its smooth all the time, But one day will fly this Jordo 100kph in the rough,, Um just need to set it up right..

I hope..http://i34.tinypic.com/5euwis.gif

The only thing i dont like is where the rudder is,having it directly behind the prop its going to cause a lot of strain on your rudder servo and also its slower than having an offset one,but im sure it will run fine for a sports boat.

RE: My 48in Jordo Cat

About 5 kg of ballast will help:)
On serious note still nice boat an has been designed with nice water in mind she will be fast in calm water with that tunnel set the bottom of prop hub level with hull bottoms
Your tunnel set up is similar to f1 style boats

RE: My 48in Jordo Cat

strut is too low, Jordo races them fine in rough or calm water.

Thats all I want m8, A sports boat.

I now raised the strut 5ml it kinda looks a bit better but I cant raise it anymore otherwise the prop will be in the boat instead of in the water, Just have to do a lot of testing when I finally get it wet. Thanks all for you comments. ;)

I'd recommend a mod 2716 20* prop for the top speed, but this prop is a bit hard to handle, your cat must have a high CG at laest 34-35% if you're planning to use it, a mod 2716 15* is much easier to run.

4 batteries is too small, you need 5 rechargables and bigger ones would be better, at least 1500 mah's for a play boat. The rest looks good!
