Prop torque reaction question
 

Just a quick one about prop torque reaction, is it possible to use a trim tab to counter the hull tilting to one side or is ballast the better way to go?
alternativly are there any other ways of eliminating this effect?

Hull is a 46"mono with stock zenoah 260pum with wt813 carb....

Sharpening and thinning your prop are more effective ways to reduce torque. Trim tabs are the wrong way to go (full throttle they are likely not touching the water anyway).

Shifting a little weight might help. To eliminate prop torque/torque roll - only way is with counter rotating props

Samuel as its one of my hulls and having experience with them i usually suggest offseting the strut 1/8-1/4 to the right,sharpening the prop(makes all the difference) and also running a single offset rudder.I never use tabs on monosand very rareley use turn fins come to that,but i feel fins do help with turns on this hull as they eliminate spin outs.I have to agree with Matt first make sure the prop is sharp and ballanced,id suggest buying one from D. Marles, £26 for a race prepped prop isnt much really or try dasboata in the States who does great props too.You will notice a big difference when using a good well ballanced sharpened prop over one of the cheap ali props.

incidently having the motor too high can cause issues with leaning over too,not sure how low down you got your motor but keeping things as low as possible is a good idea.

I have done exactly that! got a balanced and sharpened 7015 2 bladed from D. Marles, I also have an x470 2 bladed which i was running before but that was blunt so needs resharpening and balancing.

I have not run the new prop yet but will soon, i will see where that gets me, as i have already drilled the hole for the stuffing tube offsetting may be a little tricky, i am also keen to keep my twin rudders as i like the look.
