Default substitute nitrometano???

Dear matias, as far as I know, there is no SAFE substitute for nitromethane. Depending on your budget think about gasoline powered model boats. They are larger, and handle waves better because of this. They are more expesive than the stuff that is commonly available thru mail order such as tower hobbies, but then again, any other boats that are larger than those, get much more expensive also. If you are going to try to play with medium or large size model boats, I would say use the Gas powered ones. Your first costs will be the same, or slightly more, but once your boat(s) are running on the water, you are then using fuel that is a fraction of the cost of nitromethane.

Acetone can be used as a substitute for nitromethane.
