There are only a couple boats that do run an engine that small (.15ci) and most people are trying to Upgrade those to a .18ci engine after the new wears off. About the only class you will see people putting a engine that small would be the .12 Riggers.

What kinda boat do ya have??

Is it a Mono( V hull), Hydroplane (like Miss Budweiser), or a Catamaran??
How Long & Wide is it??
Does it have a cover over the engine compartment or is it Open??
How much does it weigh??

The little .15's don't have much torque, and depending on the Specs mentioned above,, it may not be able to even get the boat up On Plane. With nitro boats there is no transmission like a truck\buggy to get the vehical up to speed before going 1:1( High Gear) so Torque is very important.

Not with a Traxxas engine but I've done a few .12's in some mono hulls.

It should be fine.
That yellow one was sold shortly after I built it and with a different engine in it, hit almost 50 MPH. A NASCAR racer bought it from me. To give you a hint, he led the Daytona 500 at the half-way point.
