Default I need some help with my K&B 3.5 outboard

I have a R/C boat with a K&B 3.5 outboard and when I toss it in the water it takes off really fast. It gets out in the water and then will just sit there and run until the water meets up with the back of the boat again and then it takes off again. Then it will do the same thing. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

I've had that problem before and can't remember what fixed it. Seems like it may have something to do with the height of the prop? Good Luck!

Are you using the stock steel prop that came in the package? Should be a couple in there. No good.

If you are, try to get ahold of a Prather 215 or 220 or Octura X440. Can't think of the other #'s right off the top of my head.

Oh, If you are running a good prop then do what haljmac suggested... lower it.

Thank you everyone who replied. The boat was given to me by a co-worker so I am guessing that it is probably the stock prop. I will get a new prop and/or try lowering the engine. I will let you know if that works. Thanks.
