Default Turn Fin

Bought an aftermarket turn fin as mine did not come with a HW kit. Installed it like this. Note the instructions. Is this good enough or do I have to bend some parts or get a new attachment block machined?

yes and no ,it may or may not work ,the fin needs to + -1" CoG center of gravity look at the fin like a hinge ,your hull will pivot at the fin. CoG is ready to run.Fuel included see my 2 fingers that's CoG . Now the turn fin bracket will need to be long enough to get close + -
Many slot the top hole of the bracket eliminating the bend in the fin . The fin can and do bend under high speeds Keep it like you have. Testing will be the only way to know. If she turns nicley leave it . Adding a slot to the top bolt hole of the bracket will give you the ability to change the angle of the fin. The only way is to run it. You will find out quickly Make sure you can shut down the engine if she's not responding to you transmitter. Practice on the bench before you launch throttle finger forward to shut down. A prop working will shut due to the water resistance quickly. You will be on pipe or off pipe. Pipe should be in the 11'-12 1/2" to the wide dia of the pipe to center of the glow plug. Finding the right length only comes from testing. The engine ,pipe ,prop all need to be close. You will stall if off pipe ,sorry that's the way it is, no idle down to much will stall the engine Launch with a heave no set down

Many add a small angle to the rear wing base.. If you do a blow over that wing gets all the damage. The angle wil help hold it in place from future blow overs--- looking good. All the elbow grease comes In soon. I like to use a light weight fiberglass & resin from your local hobby shop. Why do I say that, all the moving the hull when done in and out of the car ,house --you add resin down lay glass over the resin use a credit card to remove excess resin. It doesn't go around a 90° corner. It will lay over curves remove excess glass and resin when dry. Then move on to another area. Do the bottom first it's the easiest so you get a feel how to apply The West resin or automotive resin works well. Many don't fiberglass due to the weight gain.

I thought Dumas supplied foam cores for those. I like what I see but would do one thing different. On the full sized boat, the tails were flat sided with a rounded leading edge so I would have built them with a solid front and rounded it with a sander after the glue cured.

They are flat on one side and curve in on the other side. No Foam cores, probably too old of a kit.

Screwed up and put the mounting brackets for the rear wing on the wrong stringer. They should be roughly where the knife is in the picture. Any great ideas before I tear into the decking.

Use a heat gun on the deck to soften the epoxy. Since the deck is new, it should come loose without too much problem. Only pull it up enough to install the mounts in the proper location and to patch the deck where the mounts are now
