Default Dumas SK Daddle

Hey i have the dumas sk daddle kit that is about halfway being built. It takes a .21 marine engine. I bought fiberglass to cover the hull with and are there any tips on doing this? Also, would i expect to be in the 35mph range (or higher or lower speeds) with this boat? I looks fast...Thanks for any help. Here is a

Hey I'm building the Sk Daddle also, but mine is the larger version for .40 to .60 sized engines. Glassing the hull is pretty easy, just make sure everything is smooth first. Glass it one side at a time so you don't run in to trouble. First coat the hull with a light coat of epoxy and apply the glass cloth. Then go over the cloth with more epoxy to saturate it. Let it dry and do the other side. Give it a light sanding and apply at least one more coat.

If it's not too late I would not follow the plans for the fixed strut. I am going to use an adjustable strut in the back of the boat and a flex shaft. I build a few Dumas kits before and had problems with their idea of what the strut angle should be. I had to take the whole boat apart and change it!

Good luck!

Hey guys,

You should not need to glass the hull.

It will become way to heavy.

Just use Expoxy paint to protect the wood.

This post has just motivated me to dig out my SKD Too kit and maybe finally get it built. It's been on the shelf for a number of years.

So much to build, so little time to do it...................
