Default how can u tell when ur engines tired

how can u tell when ur engines gettin tried or gettin up on miles ? lol it dosent have no more compresion?

erm. when the compression is low
when it stops for no reason when it gets to running temp
when you can push the piston out of the top of the liner
when theres excessive play on any bearing
when its no longer tight at TDC with plug out
ABC engine normally last quite a while (if set up properly) been using my cmb for 2 seasons now replace big end bearings and rod bearing but piston and liner are fine

when it stops whizzing round and doesn't go zzzzzzzzeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeing any more. basicaly what ibstar said. also then it getd dead tight eg siexed or summin scraped the liner and peeled it up. happened to me once on my car. ouch.

it gets cranky and glares at you for no aparent reason.
