Hal,
That red rocket looks like fun! How does it run? Is it home made? What's it like on straights and corners? It looks so cool...

I have built all of the projects above from scratch, I get a idea and go with it.
Yes Red Rocket would be a good way to call her. Very fast on the straights, the turns maybe a couple MPH slower if any. Handles like a son of a gun. I installed a wide rudder, with 2 standard high torque servos, takes a lot of power to turn her. I have not put a radar gun on it, but I have timed it with a stop watch by sight(not a good way) but she's in the mid to upper 70's. I feel I can get a little more out of her with a little adjusting here and there.

Kam,

Where do you find the room to keep all this stuff?
You have quite a nice collection of R/C stuff there.
Where do you run your boats at?
Thanks for sharing.

I might have him beat. Let's see, a Speedmaster 21, a 7.5 Microburst, a CEN Grey Thunder, a Wild Thing .12 that I am just finishing up, another .12 mono, a Hammerhead .12 outrigger hydro with one more being built real soon, a gutted Pro Boat Nitro Fury, another 3.5 mono hull that I haven't started yet and 2 nitro trucks, an RC10-GT and an XTM X-cellerator. I got rid of a 7.5 OB tunnel last fall.
Yeah, I really like the "Small-block" boats. They're more fun than I've had in a long time trying to make them fast.
Now if I can get the pix posted.[]

Hi Seabiscuit,

Ha Ha .......Good question.

Finding rooms for those toy makes me headache.

Put some under my bed, put some on the top of Wardrobe.
Put two on my bed, I have to put them away elsewhere when i go to sleep.

There are totally 4 model boat pools inside the parks in various place of Hong Kong.
Only the model boat pool in Victoria Park on the Hong Kong island allows to run nitro boat.
Sometimes on sunday there are more than 25 boats gathering there.
Some boats are battery operated, most of them are nitro boats.
Since it is a small pool, we can not use large size engine there.
We usually use .12 to .21 engine with or without gear there.

I have a video shot on Victoria Park boating posted on "www.rcflix.com".

You can also see Ron's .12 hammerhead video there (Ron hope you don't mind).

Kam,

Don't spill that nitro on your sheets, it's nasty stuff.
The bottle that I have has a warning something like :'Cannot be made non-toxic'.
Not to mention the other day I fell asleep with my boat in the living room and woke up with a numb face and twitched all day long.
That was the worst day of my life!!!!
I couldn't concentrate, couldn't eat...etc...just plain bad.
So, take it from my experience and handle with care.
It's cool the you have some dedicated R/C ponds there but how can 25 people run at the same time without stepping all over each others frequencies?
I suppose that using digital controllers would help the issue and then again taking control of someone elses boat could have some entertainment value.
I'd love to make it to Hong Kong someday, a colleague of mine just returned and said it has grown incredibly.
All those people on one tiny island! WOW! Must be hard to get lonely though.
Thanks again!

SB...

OK, let's try it again! Here is a shot of my Hammerhead .12 'rigger taken last fall at a Fun Run just East of Toledo, Ohio. A long drive but a lot of fun with some people that I've met on the Internet.

Hi Seabiscuit,
Sorry to know that you have such painful experience.

After each day's run, i pumped out all the remaining fuel in the boat and clean everything with medical use alcohol.
I keep the fuel out of the bed room, so far i don't have the painful experience like yours, but thanks anyway.

The frequency control is not tight here in Hong Kong.
We can use 27, 29, 36, 40 and 75Mhz, but there is do have chance that more than one person share the same frequency band.

That is why the fail safe fuction is a must while playing on the park.

Everytime we play, we turn the receiver on first to check if there is anyone use the same frequecy band that we have.
Let the boat run only if no frequency jam occurs.

Default RE: Show me your toys

rcBPman, I just looked at your pix. I was interested in the Speedmaster 21 because I built one for my son to race. I'm running ours without the trim tabs. I was told to try it this way first then add them if it needed it. So far it hasn't after 2 seasons of racing. I just got a new prop today for ours and just got done sharpening and balancing it. This is supposed to be THE prop for Speedmaster 21's, an Octura M445. Yes, "M". It's a modified from Octura. It looks like it's about the same size as the Prather 220 that we normally run with a Rossi Niagara. I didn't see what motor that you are running, I'll have to go back in there.

OK, I just went back in. The MAC's like the small props such as the X437's. That's what John Brown was using at the IMPBA Internats. Another trick for the MAC's if you didn't know was to pull the coil out of the plug a little so that it is exposed more to the fuel.
