Default Which boat to buy?

I have been flying gliders, cars fro 10 + years and i think it is time for a boat. What do you guys do to keep the going on a boat?

Also what boats should i consider when purchasing a boat for speed and for the lake. I fish alOOOOOOT and if i some how run into a slow day of fishing in the lkae well i like to give the boat a good booot. I guess in my case a larger boat with a DEEP V hull.

Now who makes a reputable brand on Boat and motor or boat, and what motor should i consider? I like to buy my own FM controller.

Anything else i shoudl consider before buying a boat? in board, out board, style of prop, type of motor etc.......

And i want speed :P

Heres some nice pix. This forum will also help you find a boat. Just ask.

Which engine to buy? Nitro or Gas? We have a gas monster truck and a buggy and i am afraid i will get bored of the nitro boat quickly :P Also i like to avoid the maintenace of the nitro motor vs petro and plus petro has a longer run time so it seems.

What petro boat and motor are available? I'll get my own radio.

I like to use the boat in the big lake too

It's a scratch built 60" hydro built from Newton plans with a Zenoah G230 for power. It handles small chop well and runs at better than 40 MPH. It's now on loan for display at the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum in Kent WA. Having driven the boat on a couple of occassions, I can honestly say it handles like a dream. Handled the chop on Lake Washington with no problem what so ever the first time I saw it on the water

I would like to run some good chop from the lake and even on some creeks and rivers. A deep V is probably the route i will go but i don't know which one to get yet.

How do you guys mount video cameras on a boat?

What is the general run time on a tank of fuel for both petro and nitro?

Hydro, that is an absolutely beautiful hydro. Who is the craftsman that built it? I'd hate to have to compete against him in a Concours judging.

My budget would be in the area of 500 range for a nice fast deep V boat glow and maybe 700 for a gas engine.

I was doing some research on the glow and man they have advance back in the days when i used to be in RC.

It does seem like the glow engine run pretty quick. How was does the glow engine run up to?

The more money you have the faster the nitro will go..LOL,,But I have seen videos of some electrics topping 140,But I guess there runtime is about 2 minutes..
I have a couple of videos over at www.rcpics.net go check them out of you are looking to get a feel,I just put a new one of the shockwave36 up last night,There is also a video of a Lapcat2 with a 7.5 outboard,Just type in Hobie or boat in the seach engine and you should find it,,also check with www.rcflix.com for more boat videos
