Default Left turn fin ???

Hello all ,
I've been wondering if I put a turn fin on the left sponson on my 1\12 Miss Bud if it could turn left as well. Or how about spin fins on the transom would that do the trick for left turns ? Has anyone tryed this if so with what results . Please let me know . Thanks to all that answer

Neither would be advisable. The hydro design is such that the boat actually slides sideways in a turn. Putting a skid fin on both sponsons will actually "trip" the boat, with a possible flip being the outcome. The reason the boat turns right so well is the prop actually paddle wheels the rear of the boat to the left, hense a much sharper right turn. Adding turn fins to the transom will actually widen the turning radius of the boat by preventing the propwalking to the left. A hydro is what it is, so if you want a boat that will turn both ways equally well, get a deep vee with a subsurface drive.

driving my dads 1/12 mrs. bud i encounteered that problem as well, and inspired me to design a boat that could be faster, bigger, as well as be predictable on the turning, without a doubt, the fastest turnign boat, full size is a tunnel hull, or a jet boat, both can whip turns so fast, any other boats subject to the same forces would roll. HOwever, if you want top speed, as well as great turning, a catamaran is in the standings, my cat, which is in the design stage, almost build, looks like a 1/6 scale mrs. bud, with no wing, and a flat sponsons, great fun
