Default Shockwave 36, Upgraded engines???

I have a Shockwave 36. Right now its in the process of getting painted so it has been gutted. I have been thinking about getting an after market engine for it. Prolly a 45,46. Most of the marine engines i c that size has the carb on the bottom in the back and they are belt start. If anyone has an idea of a good engine and a good pipe for it that is pull start that will fit right in the shockwave then please let me know what kind and the part number if you can. It would be a lot of help.

Generaly, you won't find a 7.5 sized boat motor with a pull-starter, they are almost non-existant. Not only would you need an electric starter but also a whole new exhaust system and a larger fuel tank.

I cant believe that you are already looking for a bigger faster engine for your shockwave, not that i thinks its to fast but when i open mine up full throttle the dynamite .32 already makes it go so fast that it starts "chine walking" (bouncing back and forth). And any faster or more speed wouldnt it make the boat flipp over. Or have you found a solution to this problem cause I havent.
Thanks.

Could you jus put longer trim tabs on it to stablelize it?How long have you had the boat.If you havent had it long enough to get used to it then i would wait abit (just my thaught)

You cannot put longer trim tabs because the rudder is in the way on one side,If you saw my video, you will see I have a chine walker too,,I was thinking of throwing on a secong rudder, high torque servo and some stiffer rods..The stock rudder and mount would fit perfect on the other side..I think two rudders should keep it straight..

more motor in the 36 is a very bad idea...just sell the boat and get another boat if speed is what u want...I would have to say that the hull's stability limit is high 30's...It to narrow for anything more..

Ron O. told me that a smaller prop might fix the "chine walking" problem on the shockwave. As we have talked before I think that the shockwaves stock prop is a prather 230 and putting a prather 220 to 225 on might do the trick.

I need to get ahold of someone locally that has one of these boats. The owner of one of the LHS's has one and lives on a lake, I'd like to get my hands on his to try a few things out like props.
