Default 1/8th scale Atlas Van Lines

I do not want to use the supplied Kit built Canopy for my boat, Don Mock created Plugs and fits all of his Atlas van lines with a fiberglass ones. Does anyone know how to get in touch with him to see if he will sell an unfinished canopy and cockpit.
Or does anyone have a plug made up for the whole top canopy / cockpit set and willing to make me one for a reasonable price.
I have decided on some weight reduction modifications and this is nessecary to make these changes. I do not have the experience with fiberglass to get the canopy and cockpit correct.

Thanks, jeff

Are we talking the 1977, 1982 , 1983 or 1984 boat?

Hello Hydro Junkie, I believe it is the 1982 version Dumas, I have posted a picture of it on XPlayer930's Circus Circus thread. (Now I need to pull the plans............)
I have encountered numerous problems in the canopy build as well and need to take the cockpit off. It cracked on both sides when drying after the glue set on both sides, this was the second time it happened - As well as lightening ideas, I feel I will be much happier with the Fiberglass Cockpit and Canopy.
Thanks for the help,
Jeff

I called Don, had to leave a mesage on his voice mail. I have another source for cowlings, tails and wings who has molds for both the 1982 and the 1983 Atlas boats. The molds are designed for boats built from Newton Marine plans so you may have to modify the bottom of the cowl and the wooden cockpit sides of the hull. If you want the E-mail address, let me know, as I won't post it on an open forum.

Hydro Junkie, Do you race with Don? What boats do you race.
The email address would be great if that is OK, I do not want to send an email to an unsuspecting person.
I have checked all sites I can think of for the running hardware, is there one specific that you purchase your parts from such as the flex shafts etc..

Thanks, Jeff

Never did get a call back from Don, though my glass parts person gave me the OK to give you his address, but not post it on the open forum. He actually is hoping he can do business with you. I can honestly say his stuff is top quality bare glass/resin, though you will probably have to trim to fit. As for racing with Don, I do belong to the same scale hydro club he does, though I've never raced against him, yet. As for what I race, at the moment , it's nothing. Managed to total my two boats a while back, so I'm building replacements. I'll post a picture of some of them on my driveway. I get most of my parts from friends who are machinists, so there's no one shop I really deal with. I would look at Speedmaster or Octura hardware to start with. Maybe RCR or WWH as sources. I'll bet others will have other options for you as well.
