Default Head shims on .32 Shockwave 36 engine

Hey! Just wonderin if anyone on here with a shockwave 36 has taken out the head shims from the motor? The manual says to leave just one in. Was wondering what if this is a big project to remove the shims, or what? Lots more power? Lemme know!!! Thanks!

O yeah, and this is my first nitro engine, and boat, so i do not have ANY experiance taking these things apart, although i have been a computer tech for many years and i am pretty well mechanicaly inclined. Thanks for your reply!

They will increase compression and shorten engine life. How much??? I have no idea but it will.[:'(] I would not recomend it but I don't own a shockwave or the dynomite engine.

I have removed all but one headshims on my shockwave.

1) the engine is harder to start because of the higher compresion.

2) It runs a little more rough

3) it does give more speed and I would say 10% extra speed/torque in the high rpmĀ“s
but maybe a little les torque in the low rpmĀ“s (under 8000 rpmĀ“s)

It is wery easy to do, simply losen the 4 unbaco screws on the head and remove the shims with just one left.

Best reg.
