Default NITROUS FOR RC???

I saw a nitrous kit for R/C and I was wondering what you guys thought about it. I personly would only put it in a big scale deep vee boat because it would be a hole lot easer to control.

I know a person that tried Nitrous on his K&B 7.5 OB tunnel. Most of the engine is sitting in the bottom of a pond near Detroit.

yeh, i would have thought it would really damage an engine, and i have seen it happen also, to a idiotic friend

i think nitro engines rev to high for that type of mod, they would just destroy themselves.. IMO, a nitro engine is made to go a certain speed/ rpm .etc, if you push it further, say with nos, it would just shake itself to death or over heat. if it did survive, it would be guaranteed that the engine would last no where near as long, when you apply nos to a nitro engine, the weight of the crankshaft spinning at that speed would make the con rod stretch, ive seen this done before, it blew the top off the engine, blew all the threade on the crankcase which rendered it useless the dude driving never found the top end of his eingine again.. including the top of his conrod and piston.

so, IMO, nos should be left out for bigger engines [8D]

The way that I look at it, if Nitrous Oxide and superchargers worked on R/C boats, cars, planes, etc. people would have been using them a long time ago.

hehe, for some reason i am chuffed with my post, probarbly because its about something i actually had knowledge of

But yeh in summary

Theres no point taking the risk of losing an engine by trying NOS, i dont think it would make a lot of difference to speeds anyway...

im gonna go with ron and mini on this one, unless your some kinda filthy rich person who can afford the damages each time stay away from it.I dont think its worth buying and breaking in another engine as many times as you would break one.
