Engine height K & B 3.5
1. I am new to nitro boats. I picked up a used MRP hull with a K & B 3.5 as a first boat. Question as to the proper height of the engine relative to the hull.
2. I also have another K&B 3.5. Would this be a good motor to put on a Top Speed 2?
Thanks

I had one of those about 10 years ago! A good starting spot is with the prop shaft about 1/16" above the bottom of the sponsons and the engine level with the transom then adjust in small increments from there.
What I didn't like was the radio box setup, it was hard to tape down the cover.
The other K&B would be fine for a Top Speed 2.

Ron gave you a good starting point. Where the best place for the motor also depends on other factors. Prop, weight, etc. While testing two 3.5 tunnels, took a x1440 off one boat and placed it on a second boat. The 2nd boat ran great with a x440, but the x1440 needed to be deeper by a 1/4"..
