As far as a racing "league" goes, we all race together but have different classes for the boats based upon engine size and hull type.
If you want to see a 'rigger pic, here's one of my .12 'riggers. There were only about 8 made of these and I own 2 of them.

The two primary racing organizations in the US are IMPBA http://www.impba.net and NAMBA http://www.namba.com . If you go to their web sites you can get information on local clubs. Note, if you are just beginning racing, outriggers may not be the best choice.

Thanks. That was the first of 2 prototypes that I built. We tried different widths of sponsons, hardware, motors, etc. to see what the results were. At one time I was going to get into the business of selling them but things fell through.

The HH .12 was originally built to run in Japan so it had wider sponsons plus the sponsons have a wider stance for the rougher water conditions that they have to deal with over there. I narrowed that set 3/4" which seemed to make it run lighter on the water.
