Fastest RTR is almost an oxymoron. Are you looking for gas, nitro or EP? What style of boat do you want? What is the water condition you plan on running the most? The new TS2 with OS .21 OB is quite a combo. The OS motor is the NAMBA SAW record holder at 63 mph +/-. Normal racing speeds would be in high 40's to mid 50's.

Most popular RTR boats I have seen are deep v's with .15's-32's or hydro's with .15's. Top speeds are usually around 35mph. If you want mind blowing speeds I would go with an outrigger. I found the 40 size rigger the easiest to setup up when compared to a 90 or 21.

I would also recommend the top speed 2. I have only set one up for a friend and it seemed very easy! As far as engines, I love the look of the K&B series. It's amazing to hear the 3.5cc OB record is in the 60's. What would be the speed record/normal racing speed for a 7.5cc OB? I find they handle more chop and look amazing on the water.

You can buy a lot of boats Ready To Run, it depends on how deep your pockets are. I've seen RTR's that go for $7,500.00 . The next thing is if you can drive it. 70 MPH on the water isn't like the same speed on land or air. Setting one up to run fast isn't easy either as it's on the water, airborne or just about to become part of the bottom of the pond.
Sorry, but I've seen boaters with more cubic dollars than brains. They might be able to afford to be able to buy a high-dollar toy but haven't a clue as to what they're doing with it. Hopefully, this is not the case with you.

I've heard that the Eagle SGX is a really fast RTR boat... the price list starts at 1k and goes as far as you want. But hey they will build you a 100MPH boat

take a look at this boat video and see if they have em rtr bet it will cost a packet lol but this is tha fastest thing ive ever seen www.radiocontrol-2005.com just click on the hydro boat where it says top racing top boat and a video will start and watch it and drool hehe.they also have some nice rtr boats for sale worldwide nitro and gas powered!!.

That's what Mark was talking about, a boat from Competition Marine Design, www.cmdracing.com . That place doesn't sell them but is only showing the video. The price may sound high to the average boater but Andy and John Brown do have a waiting list for their boats!
