Default Traxxas Nitro Vee

I am looking for a good fast beginner boat. How would this be for me. I have a traxxas Revo for a truck and like there products. I like the return to shore option on it. Will I be satisfied with the performance of it being my first boat? Thanks, Jeremy

The nitro v isnt the fastest boat with the electric start and rts feature it really slows it down im thinking around 20mph but i have never had one i think the nitro hammer would be alot better of a choice and its $219 at towerhobbies.com or the shockwave 36 at www.horizonhobby.com which i think is about the same price as a nitro v or around there the sw would be a great boat for a beginner im pretty new to the hobby my self i just started last year into this stuff, i started with a nitro but i wasnt satisfied so i am currently building a gas boat

This is the Aquacraft V24 One-Design gasoline powered, radio controlled
ready-to-run Racing Boat.
Suitable for modelers 14 years and older.
Built under license from ocke mannerfelt design(R).

FEATURES: Hull: Constructed of painted fiberglass, gull-wing race boat
design, double-stepped to reduce surface contact with the
water. Strakes on the underside run parallel from the bow to
transom to give the hull more bite in turns and lift at the
bow. Vertical fin at rear assists with stability at high
speeds. Conventional R/C hulls want to bounce around in rough
water. Air will get under the boat and the driver will need
to slow down and stabilize the boat. Whereas the V24
exhibits an uncanny ability to remain level under the same
conditions and blasts ahead like a dart.
Radio: Futaba 2PEKA FM pistol grip with End Point Adjustment (EPA)
and dual rates
Servos: S3305 high-torque metal geared servo for operating the Super
Wedge rudder, S3003 standard servo controls the throttle
Radio Box: Constructed of fiberglass with waterproof exit boots and
clear plexiglass lid
Engine: Preinstalled Fuji BT-24 (FJIG0124) with recoil starter and,
waterproof kill switch, requires only regular gasoline mixed with
2-cycle oil, (see instructions)
Tuned Pipe: Spun aluminum with stainless steel support bracket
Drive System: Adjustable Surface Drive (ASD) allows manual angle
adjustment of the propeller. Adding a 3 channel radio system
allows you to have an on-board adjustable surface drive system.
All components including rudder, trim tabs and ASD are
constructed of aluminum. Machined anodized trim tabs feature
stainless steel ride plates with hex head bolt for precise
adjustments to improve handling.
1/4" Flex Drive and 4-40 size steering linkages with steel clevises
Propeller: Stainless steel, 2-blade, 2.5" (65mm) diameter
Cooling System: Tri-Flow water cooling system with water pickups in
rudder and both trim tabs that channel water up and around engine,
exhaust flange header and tuned pipe
Fuel Tank: 23oz (660cc) gasoline tank with long neck for easy fueling
full tank powers boat for approximately 40 minutes

INCLUDES: One Aquacraft V24 One-Design racing boat with fiberglass radio box,
2.5" (65mm) propeller, Futaba 2PEKA radio system with S3305 high
torque metal geared servo, 24oz (710cc) gasoline tank with tubing,
Fuji BT-24 engine, kill switch, Tri-Flow water cooling
system, spun aluminum 23cc - 30cc gas tuned pipe, 1/4" flex drive
illustrated instruction manual

REQUIRES: Two-cycle oil, regular gasoline
AA Batteries: 12 (8 for transmitter, 4 for receiver)

SPECS: Hull Length: 54" (1372mm)
Overall Length: 58" (1473mm)
Width (Beam): 18" (457mm)
Height: 14.5" (368mm)
Weight: 15.6lb (7.1kg)

COMMENTS: The V-24 was designed by ocke mannerfelt in 1998. The aim was to
design a safe offshore racing boat. The class is sanctioned by
UIM (Union International Montonautique Aquabike Class Pro). To

You used the word fast, one that I wouldn't associate with the Nitro-Vee. All of the onboard extras add up to a lot of weight that a boat in its size doesn't need. The RTS and onboard starter both add a lot of weight that really hurts a boat that small.; The RTS only helps if the boat hasn't stalled in the water because of weeds or other junk getting wrapped around the prop so don't think of it as a substitute for having any other way of retrieving the boat.
