Default how much rudder movement do i need?

hi im just about finnished on my mono scratch build and i wanted to know how much movement i need on the rudder?.at the moment its moving about 1/2 an inch each way from centre is that enough?.im gonna take her out tomorrow for her maiden and just wanted to double check ,thanks in advance.

That should be more than enough. It's easier if possible to measure the angle of movement in degrees, say 15 or 20 degrees each way.

I've seen so many boats with the rudder turn angle so severe that the boat is uncontrolable . What you have is sufficient for good control.

thanks john i know what you mean i guess its pretty much the same as with planes ,i was hoping to get her in the water this morning but familly comitments prevented it!![].i guess ill see if i can get her afloat on sunday !!.
