making tuned pipe longer

Can anybody please help. I need to make my pipe longer .from 10 1/2 to 11 1/2. Do I just need to add a little spacer or do I need to buy another one and cut it to the right length. please help thanks....

Add the spacer and sleeve it with a long piece of silicone. Try not to leave any gaps where the exhaust gas will come in contact with the silicone tube. It will burn out the silicone in time.
