Default just got my mean machine 18

Hi people,
I just recieved a mean machine from aeromarine..........Looks like a pretty good set up to me !..........Im not sure about the smartech radio or the no name engine...........but hopefull it will prove to be perfect! The boat does come with a plastic prop. I called them and a bronze one is one the way !! ( as advertised )

The boat was well packed...shipping was very fast !!!!....The boat does have a few small scratches on it and lots of sticker residue........... O well easy fix !

Here are a few pics...Ill keep yea posted on how she ran for her maiden voyage !! This is my first cat. I had to settle with nitro, cant quite afford a gaser........This is my 4th nitro boat and i also have a super -g.....

hmmm, look at tha fellas, plastic prop, imagine that. So that one I saw the other day was factory! It was also blue, but has a different paint job then that, so I assume he did paint it himself, or REPAINT it! Makes me feel better now knowing that maybe these fellas wont think Im a lyer. Thanks for posting!

The problem was in what I saw at the Toledo show but I have seen the prototype and pre-production versions. Remy told me that it was supposed to have a beryllium copper prop and now obviously it doesn't. I'm glad to see that it is finally out as it was supposedly going to be available almost a year ago. He might have gone that route for 2 reasons, one to get the Octura props overseas and the other that it doesn't need sharpening and balancing.
If you don't like the blue, look up at the cover art and you'll see that it comes in yellow and white also.
If you notice the one in the Aeromarine ad on this site, that boat was custom painted by Dean Werges. You can also see that it has a 15 instead of the 18.

They were supposed to call it an Aeromarine/OPS but it does have a generic look to it.

I've heard from other posts that it is a Chinese version of an O.S. & I wasn't sure if that was pre-production model that they were talkin bout

www.funrcboats.com and Fine Design are selling just the bare hull that they are using for electrics. It's a lighter lay-up but you only get the hull and canopy. Fun R/C also has RTR electric and a .21 nitro version.

It is but it isn't. They both share the same dimensions but I don't know if the bottom is the same or not and of course the deck is different.

Similar, yes. When I was looking at them last year, funrcboats said the bottom of the 21/45 cat and the bare [link=http://www.funrcboats.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=AERMEANHULLN]Mean Machine[/link] hulls they sell are the same. I was going to get one and install an OPS .45! However, I don't know if these bare hulls are the same as the RTR version that's finally shipping.

Remy kept one set of molds here in the states so they could lay up one probably about any way that you wanted and I don't see why not, engine rails. All of the ones that Fun R/C and Chris Fine are selling all came from Delaware.
Chuck, if you're interested in getting one, talk to Don Ferrette as he is an Aeromarine dealer, www.jackrabbitracing.com .

Thanks Ron. Don and I talk about every other week! I was actually talking to him about this last year. He's one of the ones who convinced me that while the mean machine would be fun, it wasn't going to do what I wanted, too small. I went with the 40/80 size cat so I'd be able to run with the gassers. I still think the Mean Machine would be a fun boat, but with 4 boats running and 2 in the works, I CAN'T be adding to the fleet! []

If anyone is interested in one of these boats, I was just over on Steve Vacarro's site www.offshoreelectrics.com and he just got a big shipment in of these boats yesterday. The price is a little more reasonable from him. Hopefully when he gets the time he could make a video of it and the T-Cat.

Lets see some pictures of the under side of the hull please. Is it stepped?
Hows it run in the water or have you run it yet?

I like the looks of it but I feel it will be under powered with an .18 with the size and weight of the hull.it also looks like it will take alot of work to get something bigger in there.it could just be me

So far i have not heard very many good reports on the boat. I wish we could get some more info on it. I was going to buy either a TC31 or the MM18. Starting to lean towards the TC31.

Has anyone heard of any more info on any other links?
