Default Hobbico TorqMaster Q?

I have a K&B7.5 OB engine. I'm using a Hobbico torqMaster starter. Stupid Q You judge it from the front? Have to ask. Then its clockwise. It needs to spin clockwise right? There is no chance that it is spinning in the wrong direction & damage the engine. How do you change rotation direction if it is wrong?

I can never remember if outboards are clockwise or counter. [sm=bananahead.gif] I just know that if I'm starting a plane or inboard engine that the red alligator clip goes on the positive battery terminal. Both of my starters are wired the same way so this simple convention works for me, most of the time. If I'm running outboards, the leads are reversed. If you're ever in doubt, turn the flywheel slowly and watch the prop to see which rotation will make the boat move forward. Then confirm the starter is going the correct way.

Look down from the top, it should rotate clockwise on a K&B outboard. Chuck is right, they run opposite of regular inboard engines so you have to reverse the starter wires.
