new to rc
i am looking to get my first boat. i am wondering what would be a good boat for a good price. i want something that has descent speed and is rtr. i would like it if it beat my cousins nitro vee, his is completely stock and goes about 25mph. i would be looking at spending no more than $300 for a rtr boat.

If you are running on smooth water check out the [link=http://www.aquacraftmodels.com/boats/aqub32-main.html]Miss Vegas[/link] Just under $300 and a joy to drive.
You should be able to find it at your local hobby shop

There are a couple of RTR boats under 300$
Miss vegas
nitro hammer
if you go to ebay the aeromarine meanmachine .18 is under 300$
All the 1/12 hydros from proboat are under 300$
and to top it all off they all should beat the nitro vee!

Stay away from the Pro Boat hydros. They are not beginners boats, regardless of what others say. You will spend almost as much doing the neccessary modifications as you did on buying the boat. Stick with the Nitro Hammer and the Miss Vegas. While the Vegas needs some minor work, it won't cost near as much as the Pro Boat hydros by the time you have it ready to run

RE: new to rc
my cousin just called me and told me that he now wants to sell me his nitro vee because he wants to get a plane. he told me he wants $225 for it and that comes with everything he has for it. i would need to buy nothing else. i saw it run yesterday and it looked like it ran good except it would stall a couple times in the middle of a run. let me know what ya think.

Ok, go for it. But I saw wome picture of the boat and it seems that you have the same problem I have, no electricbox to keep the water out if
you flip. I have done it 2-3 times and had to buy and change servos because of flipping and getting water into the boat. I have a CEN Aqua Jet, but soon I am gonna
buy a Shockwave 36, maybe a Shockwave 55
Best of luck with the boat.
Regards fron Sweden!

ide buy a nitro hammer for $219.99 from http://www.towerhobbies.com/.
they are a blast and very easy for a begginers if you arent already buying the nitro vee. i have one and once i work out the problem im having, i bought mine used so it was the guy that previously owned its fault but once i fix it it will be a blast to run, im sure of it
Thats just a thought for yah
