Default k&b help

started engine and it worked fine. Made adjustments on shore by connecting water hose so it would not over heat. Each time I put it in the lake, it would die. Any ideas ?

Try opening up the high speed needle-valve one full turn.

If you try to rev it up on land and it won't, or it dies, trying leaning it out. Also, jsut blip it out land so that it won't over rev. And start to rev it up before you hit the water so it ahs some RPM's built up. Also you can try giving it a little toss to get some forward momentum.

Take Jerry's advice, and richen the needle (needs more fuel). They'll usually die from being too lean, not too rich.

If you lean it out further you will end up with a paper weight instead of an engine. Been there done that
One word of advice, however. It isn't a good idea to run a boat engine on the beach for extended periods of time. Even with a water hose, you can and will do serious damage to your engine by running it without a load on it
