What mods could I do to the origoinal .32?, I heard a bigger exhaust might do better since the one it comes with seems like its hold the motor back

If you find some one who has a .67 could you list any mods that would have to be done to put the engine in

A .67 is overkill in that boat. You'd need to make a lot of changes from the motor mounts through the driveline because you'd have to go up to 1/4" cable.
You' have to make a new radio box as the stock one would be in the way of the exhaust system.

Ive heard a .46 would fit in the SW without too much mods

with the origoinal .32 what prop would deliver more speed but still a reasonable amout of control when turning or in water with around 3-5 inch wake, as wind is almost constantly blowing over my lake.

You're new and haven't read the big thread, have you?
OK, so far, one of the best props that we've tested is the Octura M-445.

Ron, do i have to use a tuned pipe? Doesnt that reduce the RPM's? Can i just run a custom bent 3/4" pipe or something around there around the radio box and out through the stock hole. I guess the bottom line is i want to get around 50-60mph out of this hull. I enjoy a good project witha little customizing

No, the tuned pipe increases RPM and can be made to hit peak HP in a certain RPM range. If they didn't do any good, we wouldn't use them. Neighbors or those at the pond wouldn't like the noise either.
In order for that boat to hit 50-60 would take a lot of work including dumping that engine for a much better one.

Dumping what engine? the OPS .67? I was looking at a OPS 90 but i think thats way to much for the little 36, dont you think? What speeds will i see with the .67 and what size prop should i try? Thanks for all your help so far! this is going to be an exciting build

The .67 may be a bit much for this hull also. I personally would put in anything over a .45 or you start running into having to rebuild the driveline. A good .45 will make that boat fast enough. 60 MPH doesn't sound fast until you see it on the water. It becomes a whole new ballgame when you start reaching those speeds.

my electric mean machine would do 63mph so i realize how much of a handfull it is, like you said its a whole different ball game. What speeds will i see with the .45? I rather not put a 1/4inch driveshaft in if i can help it but i wouldnt mind either so the .67 is still a possibility... maybe haha

alright well i just ordered the OPS.67 I already took out the radio box and the old drive shaft. AFter i get the motor, 1/4inch shaft in and the tuned pipe i will custom make a new radio box to fit in like a glove. This shockwave 36 is going to be INSANE!!!!!!!

If you use a higher percent of nitro fuel, like 30% nitro, will it increase speed

I dont know if the prop is balanced yet but it seems like its sharpened, also Im still working on breaking in the engine but accidentally over tightend the glow plug and stripped the head button, while examining the problem i noticed there are only 2 head shims when there should be three, is the one that comes in the plastic bag the one you leave on after breakin to increase compresson?

has anyone taken off the turn fins? I have my boat all dissasembled right now and i am wondering if i want to put them back on... They just cause more drag and i dont think i will be turning sharp enough where the boat will spin out. Anyways i have plenty of time to think about it, i am putting the boat back together slowly as i gather new parts. the only stock thing left on the boat will be the hull (after its custom paint job) and the rudder. all new radio box, OPS .67 engine with pipe 1/4 inch drive shaft, strut. I am going to make the fastest shockwave hull out there.

when you get the new paint job could you take a few pics of the boat, I like the origoinal graphics on the SW but would like to make the boat stand out more on the lake.
Also, because im waiting for a replacement head button, how long can nitro be stored before it goes bad. iv herad people say if you let the fuel sit for too long, it could damage the engine if you use it again.

i am not sure on exact time frames but i wouldnt use it after 5-6 months or sitting around. plus make sure after you use your engine to take the plug out and drop some after run oil in. You can get the after run oil at at hobby store. I will post some pics of the paint job but it wont be painted for a while, i am going to wait until the whole boat is all set and all holes are drilled and everything is mocked up correctly.

Here are a couple pics of what i have done so far. I am hoping tomorrow to get the engine and i will see how it fits in there with the pipe and then i can start building a new radio box. I also took out all the old pipe in the back that let the air out and i am going to put some new ones back in, not sure if i will only put one on each side or two. I also covered the hole on the hatch for the antenna because i am going to use a 45cm offshore whip antenna from offshoreelectrics.com. And of course i covered up the hole in the transom where the old little wimpy pipe came out.

not sure... try maybe a sign shop, sometimes they have graphics like that on file. What else are you looking to do to your shockwave? Dual rudders? larger engine?
