Default New To Boating - Question About My Miss Vegas

I've been flying airplanes for a couple of years and I just bought the Miss Vegas nitro boat. I taken it out a couple times and I have a few questions that maybe y'all can help me with.

1) My boat seems to take on quite a bit of water. Is this normal? I have to pull the plug after each use to drain it.

2) The engine revs speed up pretty high when making a high speed turn. Is this normal or does the boat need adjusting? Can I over-rev the engine?

3) How often are you suppose the grease the drive cable?

4) About how many turns out from fully closed does the carb normally need to be set? I know it depends on atmospheric conditions, but 2 1/2 turns out is really rich and about 1 3/4 out seems to make the engine run hotter than normal?

5) Is the engine suppose to surge at full throttle and steering in a straight line?

Thanks and every help would be greatly appreciated!!
