Default Wildcat Nitro Conversion!

So, just like the title states, I'm going to take my very old Electric GP Wildcat and make it Nitro! I plan on using my Cen Aqua Jet engine and hardware. I started by removing the electric motors and mount and now, I have a question...Is there anyway to "fuel proof" the ABS plastic hull? Heres the Hull...its very light and I hope to get 35 mph out of it with the cen .16 engine!

Hi AWDEVO8,

I have the CEN Aquajet with the .16. To be honest with you the Aquajet would probably weigh about the same as your finished product. Its probably not likely that you will see those kind of speeds out of this engine. Not atleast without spending quite a bit on tune pipe, prop etc. Add to that the cost of all the parts needed to convert electric to Nitro. You would probably be better off buying the Aqua Jet and modifying the engine etc. The hull will be fine as long as you clean it and are careful with the fuel.

I see your points and thanks for some insight. However, It will be a lot lighter than the aqua jet so, I think 35mph is a realistic goal. Plus, I'm bored with my aqua jet and its time to get creative. Also, my aqua jet hull is getting pretty crusty.

I agree with scorpio you will probably not get that speed out of that engine. To fuel proof the hull there is a paint but i'm not sure what it is called
