Why do you suppose this thing cavitates B4 the prop grabs???

Not mine but weird problem. Just wondered if anyone has seen this before and could answer why?

You were slowing it down to a crawl and then goosing it. Cavitation is just as normal as the tire spinning you'd get if you slowed a 70's big block muscle car down to 5 MPH and then floored it. Next time you're at the lake see how it does from mid to full throttle instead of nearly idling to full.
