I haven't heard positive things for the prather 31 outboard. What would be a good v craft for an outboard?
Thanks for any help or suggestions

Ummm, perhaps a tunnel?
I think the reason you don't see many outboard monos is that they don't run so well. Outboards and tunnels are just made for each other...

It been my experiance that an outboard is not a good match for a V or DeepV for speed that is, However if handling is what your after just be sure you get a step hull boat and youll be plezed with almost any combo

ive seen a Seaducer 20 with a K&B 21 OB that ran very well..handled pretty good as well. Id rather put an OB on a cat then a vee though (which i plan on doing, just twin electric OB's [:-])

I have built about 10 boats over the last 15 years, Like most guys I started out small and just kept building bigger and faster boats. I got sick of swimming or rowing out after swamped boats in cold water and decided that big twins were the way to go. One of my favorite boats and most reliable is my 55” Dumas Scarab. Powered by 2 K&B .82s but soon to be refitted with 2 K&B 1.0 with race mods . It was one of the easies boats to build and very easy to run. I retired all my small boats and now only run this one with plans this winner of a 72” twin with OPS 90s.

[sm=thumbup.gif],very nice!! that's a serious set-up....
Byronrc,
here's pics, i used dual servo for steering and the throttle servo outside the radio box to have more room for the cable play, also a brass tubing for the pressure just to hide the tube,,

Joe Monohan seems to know what he is talking about when it comes to vee hulls with outboards. Although he doesn't post very often.
