Dumas Deep Vee kits- how are they, what hardware?

RE: Dumas Deep Vee kits- how are they, what hardware?
Like I said I havnt dialed it in yet plus my motor came out of LHS riggerThe motor was fully modded by the owners builder. The boat apperntly calls for a 60 size motor though. Mine is a lot of motor for the boat but I never go by what they say to use I dont like tug boats. They say put .12 Im stuffin a .18 or .21 in it . The reason I didnt put an 80 or 90 in the dumas is because I got a good deal on the motor and my LHS owner assured me that the boat would scream. Dave

Humm....just wondering, could I make the vee deeper, and freeboard higher on that Woody so it will be better in the rough. Love the line of woody but love the high freeboard deep vee of the Dumas[sm=50_50.gif]. I have to take a minute and think.[sm=confused.gif]

I think that looks close to the WT plan floating around. Birel take a look at the thread I just started on Wild thing run I have a plan for a 26in. version you could blow it up to any size you want or take I look at my thread HPI/Nova Rossi .12 If you want to see what the boat looks like . You can modify the boat any way you want if you have an imagination. I changed the deck a bit gave it a nice radious I think it makes it look mean and nasty just sitting still.

If you want to build a small boat 26in save some cheese I can send you this plan I have for it. Its pleanty fast. I even ran a bit of chop over it got a bit lite in the front but ate it up. The way I have iit set up not even tried to fly away and it will turn on a dime at full throttle.

I know, probably 15... I dont think I can go that small, my pond (the ocean or a lake usually) is consistently really choppy. I was thinking from 30-45 inches at most, gas or nitro, high freeboard, deep vee.

You could do Like Mike Toyota Truckin Tape the tiled plan together and take it to a copier shop and have it blown up I was surprized how good Mikes Tiled plans looked after he had them done.

Unclecrash,
When I printed out the plans you sent me I dont think they printed to full size (the bottom is only like 10 inches), Is there a setting I can use so they print full size and I can tape the pieces together? What kind of wood did you use or recommend? Post some pics of your finished boat!!! I saw it in the forum and it running, looks great!!!

Could I use this hardware and turn well both ways? In the build forum you guys mentioned the one farther down the page on the finedesighnrc.com site. Heres the link to the pic- http://finedesignrc.com/images/21egsrahardware.gif
Heres to the page I got it from- http://finedesignrc.com/hardware.asp
One more thing, Should I use the dynamite or OS .15 engine, Im starting to like it with its 100-13 dollar price tag!!

When did I send you the plans dont remember? If I did send them it might not be the tiled plan. That sounds like the one that needs to be scaled up my printer wouldnt do it either.

No Im Dave You can try but Im not good at messing with that. Up in the corner left click on file then page set up you might be able to change the scale but you will just have to mess around with the size. I will send the one I got .

I just sent you the plans make sure if you are going to have it blown up you tape it neat and dont wrinkle it up. Also use one piece of tape all the way across the plan for each tape joint because they have to send it through there scanner. Dave

Hi Birel,
You should be able to put those plans I gave you onto a CD and take them to a printer/copier service and they should be able to print them out full size.

I tryed to do that with a set one of the guys sent me and The copier shop told me it was going to cost me about fourty bucks that he had to rework them and crop every drawing. It could have been a print that someone or too many people modified before they got to me. Matter of fact 2 different shops told me this so I know they wernt just tryin to drain my pocket.

I got them printed full scale, just need to cut them up and patch them up a bit with blank sheets of paper.
