if ur planning to go racing try getting those boat mentioned above like htb, lynx etc. but if fun boat build the dumas hotshot kit, it's a lot of fun and has speed it goes hi 40's with ur stock os xm .21.

I don't normally take sides but I think there is a bit of confusion here.

the 21 VZ-M is an Inboard engine and the 21 XM is an Outboard engine.

Piper is right, there is no reason what so ever to convert outboard XM engine into an inboard.

the XM has 1.3 HP @ 25000 rpm and the VZ-M has 2.5 @ 33000

Come on Chuck!! cant convert it over?! But if that motor is 25.000 rpms,then I would waste my time to converting over to inbord! Dan the VZ-M top RPMS is 40.000!![X(] Oh Chuck if that motor is 300 dollars I would get the thundertiger pro.21!!! for less then that!!and it has way more power then that motor!! 2.1hp top ends at 38.000rpms!![X(]

You guys are kidding yourselves if you believe the hype with the engine numbers that manufacturers post.

well it's actualy OS-21 VZ-M inboard,wasn't paying attention when i made the post top rpm upto 40,000,,,,and i have this boat hooked up just for fun and fooling around with friends, i love speed. i'll race my friend's home made air boat with OS-91 engine, don't think i would stand a chance but it would be great fun, i'll have him in the turns

I'd like to see the stock Thundertiger .21 OB take out an OS .21 XM...

A hotshot or similar sized tunnel would be as fast with the XM as most vegas boats are with RG-M's or VZ-M's

Then why did you suggest it? It works great in its intended form.
And it's supposed to have 2.5 hp at 33,000 rpms, as Dan said. Regardless, the point is meaningless, that's not the engine that jrizo1 has.
People who actually run outboards have had a choice between the TT and OS outboards for quite a few years now. IF the TT was so much better don't you think it would be winning in the marketplace, and in the races? The fact that it's not says volumes about the value of the stats you cite above.

may I add: you usually get what you pay for (if it was so much better and cheaper, OS would not be in the market at all.)
