Hi,

I need a coupler to attach a 5mm threaded motor output to a 3mm flexshaft.

I see that Octura have OCFH5MM13, which works for 5mm threaded motor output to .130 inch flexshaft.

Since .130 inch works out to be around 3.3mm, and my flexshaft is 3mm - i was wondering whether i can use this coupler for my slightly narrower flexshaft?

Would 0.3mm make such a difference for this coupler?

My understanding is that the 130 Octura couplers work for both .125 an d.130 cables. But, even the .125 cable is still a hair larger than 3mm. My guess, is that it would work. The problem is, that if it does not work, you might lose your flex cable, prop, etc...

as far as I know Octura is the only one that makes coupler for the smallest boat to the the biggest. Don't get me wrong here, there are other companies that makes the flex cable couplers, but Octura is the only one that make them for the small boat.

I would use that coupler from Octura and before running double check, your last recourse could be to go to an original, or switch to a .150 cable with the OCFH5MM15 coupler.

.150" = 3.8mm
.130" = 3.3mm and
.125" = 3.175mm.
